Our natural world is in crisis. With your Will to Conserve, you can leave your mark on the world by:

  • Protecting endangered species such as koalas, spotted-tailed quolls and superb parrots.
  • Restoring critical ecosystems that have been degraded over time.
  • Connecting fragmented landscapes, allowing wildlife to thrive.

Your legacy will live on through the wildlife and landscapes you help protect, ensuring that future generations can enjoy nature, just as you have.

How your gift makes a difference

By leaving a gift to the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust, you are making a powerful investment that will see permanent protection for key conservation areas in NSW. Whether you choose to leave a portion of your estate, a specific sum of money, or even land, your contribution will directly support the protection, restoration, and connection of our most critical habitats.

Types of bequests you can make

There are several ways to leave your Will to Conserve:

  • A pecuniary gift: A specific sum of money or property.
  • A percentage of your estate: A portion of your overall estate value.
  • A residuary gift: What remains of your estate after your loved ones have been provided for.

Any gift, large or small, can have a lasting impact.

If you wish to include the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust in your Will, here is the suggested wording to ensure your legacy is honoured:

"I give [insert details of the bequest], free from all debts (secured and unsecured) and all duties (whether federal or state) payable in respect of my estate, to the Biodiversity Conservation Trust of New South Wales (ABN 37 151 321 702), a statutory body constituted under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 or its successor entity, absolutely for its general purposes, and I declare that a receipt of the authorised officer for the time being of the Biodiversity Conservation Trust or its successor entity will be a full and sufficient discharge of this bequest to my executor(s)."

If you've made a bequest to the former Nature Conservation Trust, there is no need to update your Will. The NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust is a continuation of that entity, and your gift will be honoured in full.
