It can sometimes be hard to resist the urge to clean up fallen branches or accumulated leaf litter in native bushland patches, but where possible leaving fallen logs, branches and leaf litter can have huge benefits for native wildlife and the functioning of ecosystems.

Researcher wins award at Australia’s largest ecological conference

Our Research Strategy program’s PhD candidate Joshua Lee received an award from the Ecological Society of Australia’s 2024 conference in Melbourne last week.

Joshua received the society’s Fundamental Ecology Award for his research to assess biodiversity more effectively on conservation agreements.

Private land conservation goal exceeded

The NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust has exceeded its goal to secure an additional 200,000 hectares under conservation agreements in NSW by 2025, a full year early.
